Overview
A late summer hike to the bowl area just below the summit of Mount Marathon (a dramatic backdrop for the small town of Seward), yields a steady flowing stream. The water source is run-off from last winters snow and is a life-giving force, in addition to the abundant summer sunshine, to fireweed and other sparse vegetation found atop the windy and rocky summit of the mountain.
