Overview
While our vessel was dead in the water making acoustic recordings on a rare 80 Degree Fahrenheit day without wind along coastal Alaska, three 70-foot long fin whales surfaced near our boat in the Kenai Fjords near Resurrection Bay. I had a zoom lens and extender attached for a different purpose and thus was only able to fit a single whale in my viewfinder! In this moment, what a beautiful view it was!
